priorities
Public safety
As the Mat-Su continues to grow, we need to make sure public safety keeps up. That means supporting law enforcement, emergency response services, and making sure our communities have the infrastructure and resources needed to keep families safe. Public safety should always be a core responsibility of local government.
taxes
Families across the Mat-Su are already feeling the pressure of rising costs. I do not believe the answer is asking taxpayers for more money, which is why I am opposed to the proposed sales tax. Borough government needs to focus on responsible spending, accountability, and making sure taxpayer dollars are being used effectively before considering additional taxes or burdens on residents.
fish & game
Hunting, fishing, trapping, and outdoor recreation are a way of life in the Mat-Su. I believe in protecting access to public lands, supporting responsible wildlife management, and preserving Alaska’s outdoor traditions for future generations. I strongly support the Second Amendment and the rights of law-abiding Alaskans to own and responsibly use firearms.
small business
Small businesses are the backbone of the Mat-Su Borough and the driving force behind our local economy. As a small business owner myself, I understand the pressure of rising costs, government regulations, and the challenges that come with keeping a business running. I will fight for policies that enable a strong local economy that keeps the Mat-Su a place where businesses can grow and families can succeed.
education
My children grew up in our schools — Butte Elementary, Palmer Junior Middle, and Palmer High. I care deeply about making sure families have strong schools and the freedom to choose what’s best for their children, which is why I support educational choice. But our taxpayer dollars shouldn't leave the Mat-Su to charter schools outside of borough boundaries. We need to focus on supporting students, teachers, and schools here in the Mat-Su.
transportation
I strongly support public transportation especially for how seniors, students, people with disabilities, and folks medically unable to drive, rely on affordable public transportation to take care of their basic needs. Others use the commute service exercising their choice for safe transportation or for economic reasons due to rising gas prices and affordability.
